One day last week, Ron sent me a video link to a sermon by Joseph Prince. In his sermon, he referred to a shoe repair shop owner during the Spanish flu of 1918 who wrote these verses on a piece of paper and taped it to the door of his shop. “You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, Ten thousand at your right hand, But it will not come near you.” Psalm 91:5-7 The shoe shop remained open, while all the other businesses around him closed and many people in the neighborhood came down with and died from the Spanish Flu. God protected this faithful shoemaker, his family and all who entered his establishment. Three times, that same day, I heard someone mention the promises of Psalm 91 and it has given me great peace in this turbulent world, especially Psalm 91: 9-10: “If you make the Most High your dwelling, even the Lord, who is my refuge, then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.” Throughout the bible, God has protected his faithful followers and I believe he will protect us. How do I know this, because God gave his greatest gift, His Son, to die for us on a cross and all who believe in Him, will not perish but have eternal life. If God loves us so much to sacrifice His Son, then I believe if we remain faithful, He will also protect us from the Covid-19. On this Good Friday, let us reflect on God’s greatest gift, His love for us. His death was only the beginning, the resurrection is the final victory!!!! Here is a video recording of my original song “God’s Greatest Gift” Hope you enjoy!
